Make Money Online Revenue Report : 1st Quarter 2010
This is the first quarterly revenue report, for over a year I made monthly revenue reports, but they take quite a bit of time, so switched to quarterly.
Total online revenue $15,128.73 ($164.44 a day)
This make money online revenue report does not include earnings through my SEO business, AdSense themes sold at SEO/AdSense Themes or any investments, so ONLY affiliate and advertising (AdSense type programs) revenue.

Make Money Online Revenue = $15,128.73 ($164.44 a day) Extrapolation = $60,062.70 a year
Money I would accumulate assuming I kept every penny (not including bank interest) from January 1st 2008

Prior to around April 2008 I’d taken over a year off making money online beyond my SEO business for medical reasons, so my online revenue really dropped off.
Total online revenue since January 1st 2008 : $94,862.66 Average quarterly revenue (9 quarters) : $10,540.30 Average monthly revenue (27 months) : $3,513.43
Making Money Online Costs
My costs are very low since my only costs are a dedicated server and domain registration fees. so I never pay for traffic from places like AdWords or Overture etc… all my traffic is organic, most from search engines. I’ve recently upgraded dedicated servers twice when one of my sites increased traffic significantly: on election day the site saw over 100,000 visitors and despite upgrading servers it still pretty much crashed the server! Good news is the site had a couple of almost $400 AdSense days (over $3,000 from AdSense this month), bad news is after the election the traffic died within days :-(
For the above periods my average monthly dedicated server costs was around $120 a month, domain fees for about 100 domains at about $10 each per annum, so total annual costs are under $2,500. As of May 2010 the dedicated server cost is $300 a month, so if I keep the current dedicated server my costs will rise to over $4,000 a year (still not a lot considering I’ll probably make over $60K this year from websites).
Keep up! We want more!!!
In a free world – I do believe anyone can get rich – IF THEY KNOW HOW TO DO IT RIGHT….as far as online businesses go – they are too saturated – yes 15 yrs ago it may have been a good idea to be innovative and try something new – but today unless you have a BRILLIANT idea – dont even think of it.
There is also no short cut way to making wealth – unless u win a lottery or become a movie star overnight… but if you are a regular person like everyone else – there is only one way to become rich… and i’m not telling you that…

Make Money Online Revenue Report : 2nd Quarter 2010
This is the second quarterly revenue report, for over a year I made monthly revenue reports, but they take quite a bit of time, so switched to quarterly in 2010.
Total online revenue $19,641.62 ($215.84 a day)
2nd Quarter 2010 Make Money Online Revenue
Previous quarters revenue is listed in italics to the right
Google AdSense Revenue : $9,422.37 $3,780.85 Chitika Revenue : $0.16 $80.36 Clicksor Revenue : $3.99 $805.17 ClickBank : $562.31 $777.21 Amazon + Shareasale : $85.87 $61.14 Private Ads : $9,566.92 $9,624

Total online revenue since January 1st 2008 : $114,504.28 Average quarterly revenue (10 quarters) : $11,450.43 Average monthly revenue (30 months) : $3,816.81
This quarter I’ve been a bit lazy in trying to increase the ways I make money online, got a little caught up in the UK general election and spent a lot of time on my General Election 2010 site dealing with moderating comments etc… (politics can be addictive).
Fortunately the election site was a BIG hit this quarter which is why there’s about $6,000 extra AdSense revenue compared to last quarter! During the run up to the election the site was getting so much traffic it crashed my dedicated server and I had to upgrade twice!! Traffic to the election site died within weeks of the election, so revenue from that site is way down (made about $200 in June).
My youngest son (13 years old) became so interested in politics due to watching various political TV programs with me (I was watching several hours a day :-)) he wants to study a degree related to politics and currently plans to aim for the Philosophy, Politics and Economics Degree at Oxford University.
So I’ve given him the election website to help keep his interest. He’s as bad as I am with dealing with commenter’s, he wrote an article Tories Will Lift the Fox Hunting Ban and it’s had 70+ comments and I had to stop him responding to multiple comments from one person the other day so he’d get some real work done (he’s home educated) :-)
We haven’t discussed who gets the AdSense revenue at the next general election :-)
Wow! You generated a lot of cash just for Q2 of 2010. I hope I can generate that amount of money as well. Your post is inspiring.
Thanks for the inspiring post!! I am also working towards a good revenue stream
Fantastic revenue, we would all like to make that sort of on line cash. How many websites do you have ?
Thank you for your article , it’s a source of inspiration for all persons like me who want to make money online. You article show that everybody can do it and if we want to success we have to work hard and never give up.
Make Money Online Revenue Report : 3rd Quarter 2010
This is the third quarterly revenue report, for 2010.
Total online revenue $13,847.58 ($150.52 a day)
That’s down around $65 a day compared to the 2nd quarter, the majority of this drop is due to my UK General Election site is no longer generating a lot of traffic since the UK general election was in May :-(
Interestingly I’ve already made more money in 2010 (so far $48,617.93 with 3 months left to go) than I made in the whole of 2009 ($45,743.75). Can’t complain at those numbers, I’m hoping for $65,000 by the end of the year, but anything above $60,000 will be nice :-)
3rd Quarter 2010 Make Money Online Revenue
Google AdSense Revenue : $4,198.75 $9,422.37 Chitika Revenue : $153.16 $0.16 Clicksor Revenue : $0.06 $3.99 ClickBank : $506.28 $562.31 Amazon : $41.71 Shareasale : $382.76 Private Ads : $8,564.86 $9,566.92
Make Money Online Revenue = $13,847.58 ($150.52 a day) $19,641.62 ($215.84 a day) Extrapolation = $54,976.40 a year
1st Quarter 2010 : $15,128.73 : ($164.44 daily earnings) 90 2nd Quarter 2010 : $19,641.62 : ($215.84 daily earnings) 91 3rd Quarter 2010 : $13,847.58 : ($150.52 daily earnings) 92 2010 Make Money Online Revenue : $65,046.52 : ($178.09 daily earnings) ESTIMATED
Total online revenue since January 1st 2008 : $128,351.86 Average quarterly revenue (11 quarters) : $11,668.35 Average monthly revenue (33 months) : $3,889.45
A big drop in AdSense revenue almost completely due to the general election site no longer being popular (general election fever is well and truly OVER in the UK) and a modest drop in private ad sales has reduced this quarters revenue quite a bit relative to last quarter, but a good quarter relatively speaking (out of 11 quarters this one is 6th highest, so right in the middle revenue wise). Neither of these revenue drops are completely unexpected, the general election couldn’t go on forever and it’s the summer months and advertising revenue tends to drop off over the summer and pick up in the last few months for the Christmas period (AdSense looks like it’s starting to pick up at the end of September).
Considering the world financial crisis is far from over I think my affiliate like sales and advertising revenue are weathering the storm quite well.
I’ve split Sharesale and Amazon revenue data into two sections, I started creating Sharesale datafeed sites about 6 weeks ago, they aren’t getting a great deal of traffic since Google hates thin affiliate sites, but you can’t complain at a few hundred dollars for sites that take little maintenance.
I’ve been playing around with a WordPress autoblog plugin called WPRobot (that’s an affiliate link BTW, if you buy use the code Stallion for a big discount). After the discount I paid $129** for the full elite WPRobot plugin + all modules except (Linkshare, Eventful and iTunes which you can get free as part of a trial, I’ll probably get them later) that generates content to a WordPress blog on auto pilot from the following affiliate and content sources:
** You could get the basic version of WPRobot with just the Amazon module and free modules for around $40 before adding discount codes.
Amazon, eBay, Clickbank, Yahoo Answers, YouTube Module, Flickr Image, Yahoo News, RSS, Commission Junction, Oodle, Shopzilla, Twitter, Press Releases and various article sources!!! It has an automated Google translation module (not tried it yet) which looks interesting. You can also get modules for Linkshare, Eventful and iTunes content (signup for a free trial of a another part of the WPRobot service).
Some of these content sources I won’t use (Oodle for example, that was a waste of $20 for that module before the discount), but the Amazon module alone is worth the price and the script allows for mixing and matching content from the different modules (that’s a cool feature, makes the content more unique and less thin affiliate site like). You can create single posts with a mix of Amazon, Commission Junction, Clickbank, Flickr, YouTube content etc…. with the ability to translate the content into another language. In the right hands this has the potential to make a lot of money on autopilot!
I’m working with the WPRobot script offline (bought it less than a week ago) and I’m really impressed, my regular readers will know I consider SEO quite important :-) and though the script is far from perfect out the box SEO wise with a little code rewriting I’m creating some interesting test autoblog sites in association with my Talian WordPress Theme Version 05. I plan to write a full review of WPRobots and test it out on some live sites very soon. It’s one of those scripts that you can see yourself creating dozens of sites with.
Update: See my WordPress Autoblog Plugin WP Robot Review.
Buy WP Robot AutoBlog Plugin
Yes, that means I’ve finally started to build affiliate sites again :-) I’ve been so lazy on this front this year.
Hi Dave, Nice income figure, did you make that kind of money with single blog or many blogs, besides adsense? what is mainstream income? Please do share. Thanks in advance.
Make Money Online Revenue Report : 4th Quarter 2010
This is the fourth quarterly revenue report, for 2010.
Total online revenue $15,014.22 : ($163.20 a day)
That’s up around $13 a day compared to the 3rd quarter, basically ended the year as it started.
The entire years earnings are in and the grand total is $63,632.15 : ($174.33 daily earnings) which is around $18K more than 2009, so a very good year for affiliate type earnings despite the continuing economic problems around the world. Real shame I have to pay half of it out on income tax :-(
Speaking of my WordPress SEO Ad themes in November 2010 received a recommendation from an Internet Marketer (Bill McRea : has a big mailing list and following) for my Talian 5 theme. He’d released a WordPress autoblog plugin called Massive Passive Profits and was using Talian 5 as the SEO Ad WordPress theme to use with the plugin. This recommendation resulted in over 1,000 new theme customers in a short period of time and inspired me to update Talian and Stallion 6 was born (Stallion 6 is running on this site and is awesome).
Stallion 6 is my first Clickbank affiliate product as well, selling it via Clickbank for $70 (not including tax) with a 50% revenue share. Been meaning to sell a theme via Clickbank for ages, so finally got around to it :-)
4th Quarter 2010 Make Money Online Revenue
Google AdSense Revenue : $7,341.66 $4,198.75 Chitika Revenue : $91.68 $153.16 Clicksor Revenue : $0.00 $0.06 no longer using ClickBank : $542.26 $506.28 Amazon : $44.02 $41.71 Shareasale : $782.39 $382.76 Private Ads : $6,212.21 $8,564.86
Make Money Online Revenue = $15,014.22 ($163.20 a day) $13,847.58 ($150.52 a day) Extrapolation = $59,608 a year
1st Quarter 2010 : $15,128.73 : ($164.44 daily earnings) 90 2nd Quarter 2010 : $19,641.62 : ($215.84 daily earnings) 91 3rd Quarter 2010 : $13,847.58 : ($150.52 daily earnings) 92 4th Quarter 2010 : $15,014.22 : ($163.20 daily earnings) 92 2010 Make Money Online Revenue : $63,632.15 : ($174.33 daily earnings)
Total online revenue since January 1st 2008 : $143,366 Average quarterly revenue (12 quarters) : $11,947 Average monthly revenue (36 months) : $3,982
As I mentioned in my 3rd quarter report I’ve started building affiliate type sites again. When I got a lot of Talian 5 orders had a lot of support requests so had to stop creating new sites. Despite this the small number of affiliate and autoblog test sites I made are having an impact on revenue. You can see the improvement in AdSense and Shareasale revenue.
This revenue increase has canceled out the loss in private ads, looks like the world economic problems are having a major impact on private ads: I have a finite amount of ad space and although made more money from AdSense (due to more traffic) getting less advertisers buying ads direct (down about a 1/3rd).
All in all a very good year, though the money won’t last long, we are planning on buying a second house and don’t want a mortgage (plan to pay cash). Because my back problems are finally becoming under control we are looking to the long term future and thinking about buying a new house every few years so we can spend a few years in an area and take advantage of what’s to offer, when we get bored buy another house and rent the old one out.
I’m expecting property prices to fall in the UK over the next few years (it’s starting, will get worse when interest rates go up which should have already occurred to control inflation), so the worst time to buy (bought our current house about a year before the banking crisis :-)), so might have a 6+ month holiday to somewhere like Vancouver Canada (that city sounds great, filled with cultural festivals and surrounded by wildlife) while we wait for house prices to drop.
Make Money Online Revenue Report : 1st Quarter 2011
This is the first quarterly revenue report, for 2011.
Total online revenue $14,574.60 ($161.94 a day)
2011 1st quarter revenue is pretty much the same as the last quarter of 2010. What I’ve lost in one area I’ve gained in another.
Spent some of this quarter working on Stallion 6 which I released to Talian 5 customers near the end of February (as a free upgrade, I’m way too nice, should have charged again) and general release a week or two later.
Selling Stallion 6 via Clickbank, so if you want to promote it and share 50% of the revenue see Stallion SEO Ad Theme Clickbank Affiliate Program.

I’m currently nursing a very sore coccyx (bum bone :-)) and it’s really infringing on my ability to work long hours (working 12+ hours a day is a norm for me)! If you’ve followed my blog over the past few years you’ll know 2 years ago I had an operation on my spine to fuse two disks (degraded disks causing back pain) and I’m slowly, but surely getting stronger (it’s an 18+ month recovery period).
For the past decade or so I’ve worked from bed (couldn’t sit in a chair) and have a custom built bed with a ~30 degree slope so I can work on a computer from bed (without this adaptation wouldn’t have been able to work at all). A week or two before Christmas my bum started to hurt while lay down (any angle) and 5 months on it’s still blinking hurting (first time I’ve had this issue)! Basically can’t sit in a hard chair at all right now and while working in bed having to shift my weight to my left or right buttock to work which is not very comfortable (struggling to work beyond a few hours a day). Can’t even sleep on my back, sleeping on my side which is making my back sore.
My GPs have been practically useless (nothing new there), non-steroidal-anti-inflammatory drugs (Ibuprofen) and a weak steroid cream is all I’ve been offered. Waiting for an appointment with my back surgeon just in case it has something to do with the back fusion.
Good news is I’m walking between 5 and 7 miles a day (two to three, ~one hour walks each day : two, ~2.5 mile walks most days) and doing a little light weight training: just 20lb dumbbells, not up to lifting a barbell yet, but it’s making the muscles on my arms peak like they used to (used to weight train before my back problems) which is cool :-) Lost so much muscle/fitness over the past 15 years due to back pain when I was in hospital 2 years ago the less well trained nurses had problems finding veins in my arms to draw blood, my veins had shrunk!
Went to a live music show, a Bon Jovi Tribute Band called the Bon Jovi Experience, wife wrote a Bon Jovi Experience Review on her Good Karma Blog. We are both Bon Jovi fans, but because of my health could be sometime before we can see Bon Jovi perform (if he ever performs within an hour and half drive of us we’ll be in the front row :-)).
The Bon Jovi Experience Tribute Band is VERY good, my only complaint as a fan (for ~25 years) who likes all Bon Jovi albums is the tribute band only performs the older songs and some of my favourite songs are on the latest album especially the song “What Do You Got”.
If you are a Bon Jovi fan in the UK and can’t get to a Bon Jovi concert go see this Bon Jovi tribute band, you won’t be disappointed.
Make Money Online Revenue Report : 2nd Quarter 2011
This is the second quarterly revenue report, for 2011.
Total online revenue $16,020.03 ($176.04 a day)
Over all a good quarter, actually second best quarter since tracking this way.
Almost lost my AdSense account!!! My entire AdSense account was banned for about a week, reasonably confident the problem was my Google AdSense publisher ID was used on a domain (not owned by me) breaking the AdSense TOS.
All my AdSense themes have my AdSense publisher ID as the default publisher ID, users of my themes are supposed to edit the theme after installation and add their own ID, but a very small percentage don’t. At anytime there might be 20 domains (not mine) that are using my AdSense ID, they tend not to be high traffic, but might make me a few dollars over time (free money :-)).
Cost me a weeks AdSense revenue (about $500!!!) while I communicated with Google AdSense to have the account reinstated.
Have now added the approved domain feature, this means only my domains will be used to track AdSense impressions and pay for clicks, rest will be ignored. Only problem is it’s limited to 100 domains and I’m at around 95 domains so far and have more planned. Think I’m going to have to get my wife an AdSense account and put her domains (about 6 sites now :-)) and split the domains over two AdSense accounts.
Would not have been fun trying to replace AdSense, no similar program is as good as AdSense. Chitika is so bad I’ve removed it from my jokes site that’s been getting over 10,000 visitors a day some days, Chitika was paying an eCPM of ~10 cents to that site just before I removed Chitika in early May, month before it was around 50 cents (50 cents eCPM isn’t very good). So my joke site is again making no money at all.
This make money online revenue report does not include earnings through my SEO business, AdSense themes sold at SEO Themes or any investments, so ONLY affiliate and advertising (AdSense type programs) revenue.

Working on a Stallion Theme update that adds new Stallion layouts and will add a new SEO menu to the
WPRobot Autoblog Plugin. WPRobot is by far the best autoblog WordPress plugin on the market, it’s got loads of modules covering a large list of content sources (it’s awesome), but it’s got the usual SEO mistakes like using nofollow, not hiding affiliate links and affiliate/autoblog footprints Google etc… can use to downgrade autoblogs, Stallion 6.1 will remove most of the footprints.
Use the WP Robot discount code: Stallion
Also finally got around to making the Stallion WordPress SEO Plugin that recovers link benefit from sections of a WordPress blog you don’t want indexing (admin/login pages, monthly archives…).
