If you click your own AdSense ads you are a complete and utter moron, give up any hope of ever making money online, you are too stupid to be successful and shouldn’t even be allowed Internet access!
How to Cheat Google AdSense article updated May 2020.
A while back (over 10 years ago) I created a FaceBook group called AdSense Secrets, I quickly got bored of FaceBook after realising I couldn’t make money via Facebook easily and never promoted the FaceBook group. I’m also rubbish at making money through Twitter as well.
However, the Facebook group managed to generate about 800 members and at times had a lot of AdSense click exchange discussions, basically people trying to make easy money by getting others to click their AdSense ads (AKA fraudulent AdSense clicks), usually using free Blogspot blogs with AdSense ads.
AdSense Click Exchange Networks and Google AdSense Click Fraud
I’ve never clicked my own AdSense ads on purpose or asked others to click my AdSense ads because I know Google AdSense exists to make money for Google and the people behind the Google AdSense program are working hard to stop publishers defrauding their advertisers out of their hard earned money.
In 15+ years of using AdSense I’ve obviously accidentally clicked AdSense ads while working on my websites, but not often. Google tracks Google users IP addresses and since I’m almost always logged into my Google account (which is linked to my AdSense account) I know those accidental clicks are ignored.
If you are an AdSense clicker I hope you didn’t fall for my AdSense ad joke image above, it’s just a screenshot of a Google AdWords ad that links back to here: go on, click it, you know you want to :-)
Basically I know given time IF I clicked my own ads or arranged for others to click them I’d eventually get caught and my AdSense account would be banned and I’d no longer make thousands of dollars a year via AdSense. As I update this article in May 2020 my original AdSense account still exists and I’m still making money from it. Consider the lost AdSense income if in say 2009 I took the risk and joined an AdSense click exchange network, I’d have been caught by now. There’s no way I’d have got away with Google AdSense click fraud for over 10 years!
Is it Safe to Join AdSense Click Exchange Groups to Cheat Google AdSense?
If you search in Google for “AdSense Click Exchange” or “AdSense Click Fraud” you will find various webpages offering to work with AdSense publishers to defraud the Google AdSense program. You can even find buy click traffic for AdSense ‘services’ (i use the term services loosely) on places like Fiverr and People per Hour.
One of the current top listings for the Google search “AdSense Click Exchange” is a FaceBook page and the person who created the page was trying to get their AdSense ads on a Blogspot blog clicked. When I checked the blog out (July 2010) the Blogspot blog had been banned by Blogspot: which is owned by Google, that’s the same owner as AdSense you know :-)
The Blogspot blog was available at the time to register, so I registered it and added some info why you shouldn’t cheat AdSense :-)
AdSense Click Fraud, is it worth it?
Over the last decade or so I’ve occasionally taken a look at websites that have asked for fraudulent AdSense clicks in exchange for clicking others AdSense ads and have found there is a strong tendency for AdSense either to be no longer shown on the sites (suggesting the account was banned and the owner removed the ad code) or an error block shown where the AdSense ad should be: that happens when an AdSense publisher account is banned or a site is blocked from the AdSense program.
I haven’t performed detailed statistical analysis on sites listed on AdSense click exchange Facebook groups etc…, but I’d estimate over half of websites that are listed as looking to exchange AdSense clicks fraudulently are banned from the AdSense program within 6 months.
Some sites are still showing AdSense ads a year on, so Google AdSense might not be doing as much as they could to monitor and catch the AdSense click fraudsters, but for me a 50% chance my Google AdSense account could be banned within 6 months is way too much of a risk for a program that’s made me money for years.
I’d be a fool to risk my AdSense account by defrauding Google AdSense!!!
AdSense Revenue
If AdSense earnings like you see in the Google AdSense revenue screenshot below is your long term goal, DO NOT cheat AdSense, work on adding to you AdSense earnings by increasing your AdSense CTR for example. Look into the newer mobile responsive AdSense ad units, they are designed for both desktop and mobile devices (better user experience).
If you use fraudulent methods to increase ad revenue Google AdSense will ban your account.
I make my AdSense money legally, I use the AdSense Ready WordPress theme I develop which includes support for the new responsive mobile AdSense ad units.
You’ll note from the image above I’m a UK AdSense account holder which is why I’m paid in pound sterling (£s) not US dollars ($s).
Ways to Cheat the Google AdSense Program
I do not advise trying any of these AdSense click fraud techniques, I would expect your AdSense account to be banned eventually. There are much better ways to make money with AdSense.
Click Your Own AdSense Ads
Well, if you’ve clicked your own AdSense ads you are an idiot, give up any hope of ever making money online, you are too stupid and shouldn’t even be allowed Internet access!
When you login to your AdSense publisher account Google AdSense will know your IP address and will know you are clicking your own AdSense ads, also they will consider the impressions and clicks as invalid and you won’t get paid anyway.
This is also true if you are logged into any Google services (Gmail for example) which is linked to your AdSense Publisher account.
Click Your Own AdSense Ads via Proxy Servers
You’ve done some research that you can hide your IP address etc… by using a proxy server. Technically speaking this could work, however I’m not a computer programmer, but even I know it’s not going to be rocket science to the Google AdSense engineers (those geeky computer programmers who live programming code) to compile proxy server lists and check for AdSense clicks from them and checkout AdSense publishers who’s ads get a fair number of AdSense clicks from proxy servers.
Lets imagine you have a domain with AdSense and every day you login to your site through 10 random proxy servers, browse a dozen pages and click one AdSense ad. In a year you’ll generate 3,650 fraudulent clicks related to about 40,000 impressions and your clicks from proxy servers won’t generate a single sale for the AdWords advertisers.
This isn’t even large scale AdSense click fraud, at a relatively high $0.25 an AdSense click it’s only $900 a year, but you can see within a year you’ve left a serious footprint of your fraudulent AdSense click activity!
Ask Friends and Family to Click Your AdSense Ads
This is straight forward, you have a lot of friends/family and you persuade them to click your ads on a regular basis (though not family members using the same Internet connection you use!).
If done intelligently I could see this working, picture a family living in 5 properties, you persuade one member of each family to click one ad every day, you get around 1800 fraudulent AdSense clicks from real people in different locations (different IPs: would work better if all 5 are on ISPs that use dynamic IPs and none of them have their own AdSense accounts: see later under “AdSense Click Exchange Networks”.).
The problem with this (any AdSense click fraud) is scale, if I popped down to my local library once a day and clicked one ad, this would result in 365 AdSense clicks a year, would this throw up a red flag? Probably not, but 365 clicks a year isn’t exactly going to be worth the effort of visiting the library every day (at $0.25 a click it’s under $100 a year). Basically if it’s financially worthwhile putting the time into AdSense click fraud you are inevitably going to leave a footprint the very smart Google AdSense engineers are going to be able to spot and then ban you for.
Download AdSense Click Bot/AdSense Auto Clicker Software
Software that clicks AdSense ads and generates impressions so it looks like you have a lot of visitors and some click ads automatically. Do you trust a computer programmer to not leave a footprint from an AdSense click bot program that fraudulently clicks ads that Google AdSense can’t find?
I wouldn’t, there could be hundreds of other AdSense publishers using the same AdSense click bot and one small mistake by the computer programmer who wrote the AdSense clicker bot and you are all caught and banned!
Paid AdSense Click Cheats on Fiverr
Pay a group of people to visit your website and fraudulently click your AdSense ads. This is hiring people from economies where people will work for a dollar a day (India, Africa, Pakistan etc…) and have them generate X number of impressions and Y number of fraudulent clicks per month. There’s plenty of people on places like Fiverr and People Per Hour etc… who will happily take your money to click your AdSense ads.
The problem with this is you are trusting fraudsters to generate impressions and ad clicks without leaving a footprint the Google AdSense engineers can spot. As has been discussed above this isn’t that easy and running AdSense fraud as a business means large scale which inevitably leaves an even larger footprint which makes it even easier for Google AdSense to spot.
AdSense Click Exchange Networks
You find others looking to defraud the Google AdSense program and you click their AdSense ads and they click yours.
Do you trust total strangers to be intelligent when they click your ads?
Think about it, if they are fraudulently clicking your ads they are probably fraudulently clicking others AdSense ads as well, it’s not going to be difficult for Google AdSense to track AdSense publishers (like you) online AdSense click activity.
An AdSense publisher is on a static IP address or have a dynamic IP but regularly log in to their Google or AdSense account. They have logged into their google or AdSense account with that IP which links any AdSense click activity to that person, to their AdSense account. They visit your website and click a few ads, go to another AdSense publishers website and click a few ads…
You are also on a static IP address or are on a dynamic IP, but regularly log into your Google or AdSense account which links you to your AdSense account. You click the AdSense ads of an AdSense publisher that’s clicked your ads, then go to another AdSense publishers website and click their AdSense ads.
Hmm, back at AdSense HQ a pattern has emerged, we have three or more AdSense publishers clicking each others AdSense ads, but they never buy a product or service.
Can you see just how easy it is to be caught clicking others AdSense ads?
How to Make Money with AdSense Ads
I’m afraid there’s no get rich quick schemes with the AdSense program. You build a website with content that generates traffic and some of that traffic clicks your AdSense ads, that’s it.
It’s the ONLY safe and LONG TERM way to make money from the Google AdSense program.
I develop AdSense ready WordPress themes, Stallion Responsive is a premium WordPress theme, also have a free AdSense WordPress theme Talian 5.5.
Report AdSense Invalid Clicks
Since first writing this article Google has added the ability to report AdSense invalid clicks, so in 2014 it’s even easier for Google to catch the AdSense cheats. Do a Google search for Report AdSense Invalid Clicks and you’ll see the current state of AdSense click fraud and what Google is doing to tackle it.

The Google AdSense ads are currently not working on any of my sites because Google AdSense disabled our account!
About a month back another site owner complained we’d copied their content on one of my test sites. I’d been running a test and used their RSS feed for quick content, long story short fell foul of a DMCA complaint.
Removed the content and sent in a counter notification by snail mail to Google AdSense (exactly what they asked for), but because we are in the UK and Google is in the US it didn’t arrive in time (10 days from the first DMCA notification email) and they disabled the account!!
Didn’t get a warning of this, just one repeated email that they needed the notification, no information that they’d be disabling the account in X days or anything) and despite me stating it’s in the post, but don’t know how long it will take to arrive, so they will have to be patient. They then sent a email saying I should email a copy of the notification as an attachment.
Unfortunately living in a partially renovated house with no fax, printer or scanner unpacked (bare minimum needed to work basically).
Sent an email explaining this and asking if they needed a signature (what exactly will they accept) but received no response and the account was disabled in under 24hrs. Sent the email 3 times now and well over a week on still no response.
Have signed up for Yahoo Ads since this isn’t how you treat good customers, but after two sign up attempts still not heard anything from them either!!!!!
I wonder if we’ll get our last months revenue? The site with the problem made no revenue.
Really pisses me off since we have 50+ sites with AdSense with no problems and this was a test site with no traffic to speak of. Basically forgot to delete the RSS feed content afterwards and needed patience while the mail service did it’s thing. All they had to do was disable that one site and I wouldn’t have cared.
One Christmas AdSense sent us some free gear (good publishers) and then this.
Not impressed at all.

Update: Got my AdSense account reinstated, lost thousands while it was down though!
I strongly believe that we can make money out of adsense in a legit way rather than doing all these…Thanks for the explanation
Very good article. Do you want to cheat Adsense? I do not. I think any one who tries to cheat Google is crazy. I am not just saying that. I do not know anyone who cheats in life that is rich. But I know a lot of wealthy ethical people. I believe in Karma to some extent. Cheaters never win in the long run.
I knew this one guy, that got booted from Adsense. He has some good websites. I asked him what happened. He said he was doing something bad. I was shocked. Why would you work that hard only to get the plugged pulled.
Adblocker via Firefox – Many people use adblocker on their own sites to prevent false clicks.
You might have your computer screen open to your own site and your child might get a hold of the mouse. Then game over.
Preventing spam clicks – I always monitor my sites for potential false clicks and have banned IP addresses that look funny from coming to my site. I also have tried projecthoneypot.org to help prevent this. There is WordPress plugin for this.
Facebook -I have a theory that traffic coming from sources like Facebook are not as profitable as traffic coming from organic searches when it comes to Adsense. It seems if I have something that goes somewhat viral from a social media type site, the clicks are not as good. The more I try to be a direct traffic guy, and I on the social media and even RSS bandwagon, the more I go back to SEO. I am making real efforts to increase direct traffic but SEO and content that is interesting seems to do better.
In the end I think the only real way to profit from Adsense is exactly what Google tells you. Good content, and if you get this from organic searches that are relevant, over time you will do well. AdSense click exchanges, that’s crazy.
facebook – Personally I was using facebook to get more traffic (not by cheating but by using regular valuable groups and sharing new articles there) Unfortunately I have to say that last few weeks AdSense stopped to accept any traffic or clicks from facebook. looks like too many spammers are using facebook and it is not safe for google to see it as normal organic traffic source
Even though social media is trendy now, It does not bring quality traffic even if Google did count it. It goes back to the theory, spend time building content on your own site rather than hanging out on Facebook.
This is just my opinion, because Facebook and Twitter are popular, but not a community. A community is a focused group of people that come together for a reason. This would bring better traffic.
I have never hear about the cheat of google AdSense, thanks for sharing such info. Its true that making money online through AdSense become very easy way and rapidly prevailing in the society.
1)I started a blog for my son to develop to make money while in college. He loves being online and was trying to spark an interest that he could follow up with. Did not think about click fraud violations or to warn him. Well it happened some and We went six months and got banned from Google for violations. We are not cheats and never recieved a check from Google and that was not and is not our intentions.
You can’t make enough this way anyway. We would like to re-join/ start using adsense again. Is there any way to get accepted. Does Google ban email address, blog site, or your personal name when banning.
Wanted to make money online and now unsure what to do. Please advise.
Thank you for your time and help.
P.S. Can a person make $ using twitter. Any links appeciated.
Looking for help. See prior post.
Thank you,
Gary
Not had an AdSense account banned, so have no experience of getting a replacement AdSense account or what steps to take to get a banned account reinstated.
I suppose if it happened to me I’d look to a relative to create a new account and use that, Gran’s and Grandad’s tend not to register too many AdSense accounts :-)
David
Hello Garyin reply to your question Google is such a powerful player in the Pay per click market that it can make and change rules as it pleases. Once they ban you from what I understand that it’s pretty hard to get back in.
There are alternatives to AdSense. Do a search on Pay per click and you’ll see some new players. There are also affiliate programs that can generate good income so long as the items you promote are relevant to the content of the site. Amazon being one of them.
We need to keep in mind that Google is NOT the internet. Search for options.

I just heard that Google pay for the information about cheater in adsense. I can provide google team the list of websites that relay on click exchange, and number of email id that are in use for cheating adsense or say involved in adsense click exchange.
if it is true. Am i paid for that?
I have ripped Google for over £15 Million and they are still clueless. Don’t believe numbskulls. Use your head. Think further..
£15,000,000 gained from fraudulent activities and you are posting this information on an open website comment form where I get your IP address.
Your US IP places you around:
City: Woodstock
Region: Illinois
Country: United States
I find it hard to believe someone so good at AdSense click fraud would be dumb enough to post this here.
Funny though.
David
can you tell me how is it possible to cheat Adsense and not get caught and banned……
I also used to do this until I realized that this is just fraud or stealing money from AdSense advertisers . So I suggest never try this.
Very nicely written. There is nothing wrong to get 10-15 click/day exchanged. Visitors always avoids to click ad. We have to get at least the server cost from the ads!
Google is like Microsoft: “I will make money, not you”.
There is nothing wrong if its done within limit.
Hi,
Guys we can cheat AdSense but its like never ending process. Like if you start cheating you should continue until you get bored or when going to quit from making money.
Note: i don’t like cheating but can be used for study purpose and improving the stealth.
Thanks
SAM
Nice stuff. I agree!
Google has pretty good system in investigating and tracking fraudulent clicks.
If my google account active for more than 2years, it safe to fraud click? lol
but i never do this, coz its like thief hehehe..
No, it’s never safe to participate in AdSense Click Fraud, especially with others as you can pretty much guarantee they won’t take precautions when clicking your AdSense ads.
Do people not realise to make it worthwhile it’s quite a bit of effort (lots of clicking) and when the AdSense system notices your click through rate is higher than it should be and it’s not generating sales for their advertisers they’ll at best downgrade how much they pay you per click (smart pricing) and at worst ban your AdSense account.
If you care about your AdSense account don’t participate in AdSense click fraud.
David
only one way is a Facebook that you can earn some extra money from Google adsense. if u have a friends more then 100 then you can easily make the money. and also update your website daily and share the post on Facebook. when people click on the link your page impressions will be increase, and also chance to click on ad.
Justain
Well written article. Honestly, all that has been said here has crossed my mind at one time or another. But you know, I am trying to build a website that generates a decent income, and when it is good and ready, pass it on to my son to manage it (when he grows up). No way am I going to teach my kids to cheat. It is not something anybody is going to be proud of. Quality content and backlinks is the way to go. I am in this for the long haul.
I don’t say and don’t think that any methods will work. If you even need to read this comment, there’s 99.999% chance you will get caught before you can even get your first paycheck. Your AdSense account will be disabled, and you get banned from ever applying for AdSense account again. To see what other ways you can do to get banned
You could make a million dollar money with any medium. But don’t put any country information and those people who can work a $1 per day. The countries you mentioned in your article are making many millionaires than your country. so Kindly remove those countries from your article. thanks.
I am making a little bit of money with adsense, though I would love to make more, I am just working hard to create websites that attract potential buyers, it s not much but as for today I am making around $5 a day.
Thanks for sharing such helpful information. yes, I have a google adsense account and I believe, if you cheat someone today, you would definitely be cheated in the future.
any ad click not authorized = banned account
I came across this article thru Linkedin and I really like the way you SEO your articles.
You surely attracted many cheaters around the web and Google will give you the top place because you cleverly suggest NOT to cheat Adsense – Which is what is expected by respected web owners.
